At the General Meeting of "Albena" JSC, that will be held on March 15, will be reported a profit of BGL 11 billion for 1998. Biggest part of the profit will be re-invested. Shareholders of "Albena" are 23 juridical entities and 5000 natural persons. Among the biggest shareholders are "Banque National de Paris" (London branch), Balchik Municipality and the manager-employee company "Albena 2000" JSC.

"AKB Corporation" won the open tender for the sale of 60 per cent of the capital of holiday village "Russalka" JSC. The privatization intermediary in the deal was "Raiffeisen Investment". Six candidate-buyers bid, starting from a price of USD 500.000. The final price offered by "AKB Corporation" was USD 2.010.000. In the second place was classified the manager-employee company "Russalka" JSC with a price of USD 2.000.000. Two of the candidates were foreign company "Dunabia' JSC (Slovakia) and the natural person Mr. Hanya Kim from the USA. The other candidates were "Albena" JSC and "Overgas Inc" JSC. Under the deal "AKB Corporation" will pay 50 per cent of the price cash and the remaining 50 per cent will be paid within 30 days in government bonds.

The companys profit for 1998 is in the amount of BGL 7.535 billion, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the sea-side resort Mr. Krassimir Stanev reported. The major companys shareholders are "Albena Invest Holding" JSC, "Albena-2000" JSC and Balchik Municipality. "BNP - Dresdenerbank" JSC - Sofia has decreased its participation in the company down to 8.86 per cent. BGL 18.968 billion was invested for reconstruction of the resort in 1998. It is seven times more in comparison to the investments made in the preceding year. Thus the companys assets increased up to BGL 90 billion.

The casino in the sea-side resort Albena JSC (Varna) received a license by the Hazard Games Commission (HGC) at the end of last week, was reported from the Ministry of Finance. The new owner of the casino is Black Sea-2000. In October 1998 HGC took away the license of the casino and did not consider the request of its former owner Albena JSC for a temporary closure during the winter months.

A block deal of 258 265 shares of Albena JSC (Albena) was executed on the pit of BSE-Sofia on June 23, 1999. The price per share is BGL 6 164. According to brokers BNP Dresdner Bank, Sofia branch had sold its share of 5 per cent in the sea-side resort's capital to another foreign investor.

German touring agencies are going to invest DEM 42 million in Bulgarian tourism in 2000, was reported from the Ministry of Trade and Tourism. Nechermann is going to invest DEM 18 - DEM 20 million in resorts Dyuni, Sluntchev Bryag, Zlatni Piasatzi, Albena and Elenite. ITS and TUI are also going to make investments in Bulgaria.
