Bulgarians Have Only One Vacation due to Crisis The Bulgarians can afford only one vacation a year due to the global crisis. The Bulgarian families have tightened their budgets and their priority is the summer holiday, state the deputy director of matketing in Albena AD Yovka Strashilova. This tendency was registered at the tourist bourse held in Bucharest in March. Albena resort expects about 3,000 tourists for Easter as 90% of the guests come from Romania. Due to the crisis the interest in the Easter vacation is not very big and the resort expects to welcome by 20% less holiday-makers compared to last Easter.

The General Meeting of the shareholders of Albena, Bourse code Albena, which was held on June 19, 2010, decided to distribute gross dividend for 2009 of BGN 0.50 per share. The company reported a profit to the amount of BGN 32 019 764.34.

The Bulgarian Black Sea resort Albena is expecting an 18% increase of tourists in August in comparison to the same period last year. Managers of tourist companies in Albena have announced that they expect a 7 to 10% increase of tourists, year on year. Russians have recorded the biggest increase of holiday makers in Albena. About 3 000 have already went on vacation in Albena since the beginning of the year, which is 40% more than 2009. The decline of German tourists in Bulgaria has been overcome this year and Albena has already recorded 10% more German holiday makers than last year. Between 16 300 and 16 900 tourists visit the Bulgarian resort every day. Most of them are Bulgarians- more than 6 200. Russians, as well as Romanians, are about 3 000. About 2 000 are the Germans who have chosen to have a vacation in Albena.

The Bulgarian Black Sea resort Albena has had 10% more tourists in the summer of 2010, in comparison to last year. The commercial director of Albena, Margita Todorova, has announced that this year the number of Rusian tourists has increased by 42% and of Germans by 17%. Since the beginning of the season, more than 6000 Bulgarians have chosen to have their vacation in Albena, which is an increase by 18%, year-on-year. The guests from Poland came back this summer. The holding has started to actively work with Polish tour operators, in order to increase the number of tourists from this country in 2011, Todorova said.
