Plovdiv is about to take back its fame as the biggest center of the canning industry in the country. This will become possible by construction of the new industrial zone Trakia, which is a Sienit holding’s project. It will be completed jointly with Israeli partners. Sienit holding explained that it has handed out a proposition in the Bulgaria Invest agency as the project is applying for a priority one. The project covers the following municipalities: Plovdiv, Maritsa, Rakovsky, Kuklen, Rhodopes, Suedinenie and Parvomay. Except for Sienit and Israeli company Sensor-S, several other companies also participate in the project. These are Bulgarian-Israeli Company Bulplod Trakia, PTZ-Kuklen, a shareholder company between Sienit and KCM and Sifer. The idea is companies form food-processing industry to work together. The accent is food-processing and marketplace activities. Industrial zone Trakia will be located at an area of 10 700 000 square meters. EUR 800 million is invested there, as 30 000 jobs are ensured, as well.

Huawei interested in developing the economic zone in Bulgaria’s Plovdiv Chinese technological giant Huawei is interested in taking part in the technological renovation of Trakia Economic Zone, comprising of the six industrial zones surrounding Bulgaria’s second biggest city of Plovdiv, Bulgarian Capital Daily newspaper writes. The envisaged projects regard the establishment of an intelligent transportation system between residential areas and plants, the improvement of communication between companies and their inclusion in a system for resource sharing and energy efficiency, as well as setting up data centres. This would attract even more investors to the zone. Sienit Holding and Huawei signed a memorandum for cooperation days ago during a Bulgarian-Chinese business forum in Plovdiv.
