Sofia Commerce – Pawn Brokerage is also entering the leasing business A new leasing company will operate on the market within a few months. Sofia Commerce – Pawn Brokerage has established a leasing company. Sofcom Leasing is the name of the new company and it was registered on 16 February 2018 with a capital of BGN 500 thousand, it became clear from the documents in the Commercial Register. The sole proprietor is the largest chain of pawnshops in Bulgaria. At this stage, the company is not yet registered with the BNB, as is the regime of non-bank financial institutions granting leases, fast loans, etc. Sofia Commerce – Pawn Brokerage is expanding beyond Bulgaria, as well. Since December 2017, a subsidiary of the company has been operating in Macedonia, with the aim of creating a financial institution conducting pledging and mortgage financing. By the end of last year, the number of leasing companies registered with the BNB was 47 according to their activity data. Last year, the company slightly raised its revenues to BGN 5.5 million, but there was a drop in profits of about BGN 230 thousand to BGN 1.07 million.
