"Varna-West Port" reports BGL 14 m in profit in 1995. The information was announced by Alexander Stankov executive director of the company. In 1995 the port has processed cargoes by 600,000 t. more in comparison with 1994.

Batumi is Poti's main contender for linking with Varna for ferry, announced Stoyan Paunov, Director of the Varna port. After signing the principal agreement on a line to Georgia Bulgarian experts considered Batumi is the better option. Georgian port will be able to meet train compositions in 3 year's time at the earliest and over USD 100 million should be invested.

The Varna port has realized incomes in the amount of BGL 898,5 million for the third quarter of 1996. For this period have been processed loads in the amount of 1,470 million tons and the total goods' turnover since the beginning of 1996 is over 4 million tons.
