| National company Ports will gather the port taxes and will manage the public state property on place of the former Executive Agency Port Administration. Since 2000 the taxes were gathered by the Agency which invested them in the ports. The incomes for 2000 were in amount of BGN 12 million. | The price for the privatization of the Water Transport Institute is about BGN 300 000. The market value in amount of BGN 250 000 is added to the value of the assets - BGN 50 000 . Only few rooms from both floors of the building which is a property of the Institute is for rent. The amount of BGN 300 000 could not be paid by the employees of the company and there is no other applicant-purchasers of the Institute. In the company was established no MEBO. | Nekton company won the auction for the construction of a wharf for grain which will be constructed in Varna-iztok port. Nekton will use the equipment of the Montana-based company Mir. The new wharf is necessary for the transport of the wheat from Hungary to the East. At the moment the Hungarian grain is transported mainly through the Rumanian port Konstanca. The change of the logistics through Bulgaria will give opportunities for raising of the profits of Bulgarian River Navigation, Bulgarian State Railroads, Varna Port. | Four terminals are planned for construction, according to the general plan of Port Varna SP JSC, was announced by the Executive Director of the state-owned company Mr. Danail Papazov. The nearest perspective for the terminal is for dangerous cargo, which will be zero wharf place at the Varna-West port.. The negotiations for its construction together with the two Devnya-based factories Agropolichim and Polimeri are in advanced stage. The fertilizer factory will invest more than USD 8 million. | We are ready to sell Varna Port, as long as we receive a fair compensation in return, stated Mr. Mitko Subev, Chairman of the Managing Board of Naftex, without announced the price he expected. He explained that the aim of Petrol is to develop its gas stations, and not to manage ports. We don't want it, it can be given under concession. We don't even insist to be concessionaires, added Mr. Subev. According to the management of Plama, it is illegal for a private company to own a port. According to Bulgaria's constitution, ports are state ownership. The lawyer of the petrol company Mr. Stoyan Krastev explained that there has never been privatization of Varna Port. It is a part of Petrol's assets. By buying the petrol company, we acquired the port as well, said Mr. Krustev. In 1999, 51 per cent of the capital of Petrol were sold for USD 52 million to International Consortium Bulgaria, consisting of Petrol Holding Group, Ucos Petroleum Bulgaria and OMV Bulgaria. In the following years, Ucos Petroleum Bulgaria was transformed into Naftex Bulgaria Holding and acquired the control over Petrol independently and through joint companies. | The giving under concession of the port activities will start after the preparing of the economic analyses of the independent consultant companies, announced the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Mrs. Krasimira Martinova after the Meeting of the Council for Economic Growth of Wednesday. At the meeting were discussed the amendments in the Port Law. The auction for the election of the consultants will be opened by the end of the year.
