He and his family develop large-scale activity in the field of livestock breeding in the village of Lenovo. Nikola Yankov started in 1991 by growing 300 acres of vegetables. Today, the farm raises 300 dairy cows, and cultivates 10 thousand acres of land. The consumer agricultural cooperative "Saglasie" in the village of Choba, Brezovo Municipality, carries out agricultural and livestock activities. The farm raises over 200 sheep of the autochthonous "Vakla Marishka" breed and nearly 150 dairy cows. With carte blanche from the Brezovo Municipality, the cooperative uses about 10 thousand acres of pastures and meadows from the municipal land fund. The leader with the most subsidies from the Karlovo Municipality is Nenko Trifonov. In the region, he is the largest producer of dairy and meat products with his own brand. His activities are concentrated in the villages of Banya and Vedrare. He owns a farm where he raises cows, buffaloes, pigs. The cycle is closed with a modern dairy processing plant, and there is also a RES power plant. The second-largest company in Karlovo is "Itali-Trifonovi" Ltd. The company, which is managed by Nenko's relatives, has nothing to do with his business, although they engage in similar activities. In addition to producing meat and dairy products, "Itali Trifonovi" has a canning factory and a bread bakery. The family also competes with a chain of grocery stores in the sub-Balkan region. Plovdiv farmers with millions in agro-subsidies are "Elit Milk 2000" Ltd., "Elit 95" Ltd., "Agrimart" Ltd. and "Food Delivery Express" Ltd. The production of dairy products under its own brand is the main production of the first two companies, owned by Nikola Angelov. Through "Elit 95" he owns the largest dairy complex in the country, which is in Popovitsa. 5,000 dairy cows and buffaloes are raised there. The raw material from them is processed in two dairies - in the village of Dalbok Izvor and the village of Mirovo. Angelov also has a duck-sucking farm in Manole, which burned down last September. His business also extends into fish and caviar production, with a location in Kardzhali. Agrimart is a subsidiary of Agrion Invest - the leading Bulgarian company for professional management of agricultural land, as well as Food Delivery Express EOOD. The second, which does not have agricultural production, is owned solely by Georgi Tsankov. He is a long-time municipal councilor from "Rhodopi" and one of the main players in the field of public catering in Plovdiv. His subsidies are mainly for the supply of fruits, vegetables and milk to schools - under the State Fund's "School Fruit" and "School Milk" schemes. Through the company "Hera Agro" EOOD, the Chinese entrepreneur with large-scale investments in the municipality of Parvomay - "Tianjin Farm Cultivation Group Company Bulgaria" EOOD, is also on the list of farmers with over 1 million leva in subsidies for 2022 and 2023. The company owns 50,000 decares of land in the villages of Dalbok Izvor, Patriarh Evtimovo, Gorski Izvor. The crops grown are rapeseed, sunflower, wheat, millet, coriander, barley, corn. Rakovski Municipality is represented by three companies with subsidies of over 1 million leva. One is "Agriplanet" OOD and is managed by the Italians Ero Fabrizio Freschi and Alfredo Serena - one of the largest producers of field tomatoes in Bulgaria. The second company is "Grand Agro" OOD. The company grows over 90 thousand decares of grain, oilseed and fodder crops. Its partners are Yosif Delgyanski, Kristina Chorleva-Aleksieva and Mitko Karadjov - one of the owners of modern bread factories in Plovdiv and Sofia. "Milkcom "Bulgaria" OOD owns one of the largest cow farms in the region. The majority owner is Sunay Karaasan. Subsidies of nearly 2 million leva. received "Komso" OOD and "Vivagro" EOOD, registered in the "Rhodopi" municipality. The first company is connected to the modern cow farm in Tsalapitsa with over 1,300 animals. The raw material is also used to produce the farm dairy products "Kaymakani". "Vivagro" also operates in Tsalapitsa. It produces and trades in grain and oilseed crops, fruits and vegetables. "Ekoplod Milevo" OOD, with partners Krasimir Vassilev and Georgi Trakov, received over 1.1 million leva in subsidies from the Sadovo municipality. The company's main activity is production and wholesale trade in fruit and vegetables. Over 2 million leva in subsidies were received by Hissar's "Agrocommerce 98 Cooperative" and "Natura Fit" EOOD. The cooperative, with several partners, grows thousands of acres of grain and grain crops, perennial crops and vegetables, and also has a feed plant. The second company, which is run by Maria Koshtilakova - a second-generation farmer, produces fruits and vegetables, some of which are dried and packaged, and 80 percent go for export. Subsidies of varying sizes, but under 1 million leva, have been received for 2022 and 2023 by farmers from the listed municipalities, as well as from the other municipalities in Plovdiv district - Kaloyanovo, Krichim, Kuklen, Lucky, "Maritsa", Perushtitsa, Sopot, Stamboliyski, Saedinenie.
