3,000 new jobs in Thrace economic zone Thrace economic zone (TIPs) finished 2015 with 1,500 new jobs. In addition the same number of new jobs is expected to be opened this year with the construction of projects totaling to about EUR 50 mln. At the beginning of 2015 STROM put into operation a canning factory Traki, assessed to about EUR 4.7 mln in industrial zone Rakovski. The company already exports its products to Russia, England and Italy, in preparation for export to Germany, as well. American Sensata Technologies, ¹ 1 complete the first stage of its undertaking. Up to 4 years the company will employ 1,500 workers. Sensata’s investment for 2015 is USD 40 million. Japanese company SMC Industrial Automation, which is in the top 50 most innovative companies in the world, purchased 180 acres of land in the economic zone near Plovdiv. In 2015, British company that produces car parts William Hughes finished its fourth expansion of its plant. The company has been working for 11 years in the Rakovski zone and invests annually an average of EUR 1 million.
