The Asian corrugated packaging manufacturer Tri-Wall Group, which recently announced that it will invest 70 million leva in the construction of a new plant near Plovdiv, plans to start construction this spring and finish by the middle of next year, which will provide between 250 and 300 new jobs in the region. The group is based in Hong Kong, but its largest division is in Japan. The management team in Bulgaria is from Tri-Wall Turkey. The local company "Tri-Wall Bulgaria" was registered in mid-2023, and in September last year the capital was increased to 22.5 million leva and a 56-acre plot of land in the "Trakia Economic Zone" was purchased for the amount of 4.6 million leva. The seller is "Business Center 2", in which "Syenit Holding" and "Insa Oil" owner Georgi Samuilov currently hold 50% each. The latter bought Petar Kurtev's share in November. The plant is currently in the design phase and is expected to occupy approximately 30 acres of land, including production and storage facilities. About half of the entire investment, or 35 million leva, will be for construction. The remaining funds are earmarked for machinery and equipment, which will be supplied by European and Asian companies. The plan is to reach maximum capacity by 2032. The group produces three-layer corrugated cardboard packaging, which is used to protect large, heavy and delicate products during transportation. Finished products for customers in Europe will be produced near Plovdiv, as well as corrugated cardboard for the needs of the plant in Turkey. Raw materials will be provided mainly by international companies such as the American International Paper and the Swedish Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget.
